Identity Verification
Why we verify everyone.
A real name and a stock photo aren't the same as a real person. We check.
What verification actually is
You upload a photo of a government ID — a driver's license, state ID, or passport. Then you take a quick selfie. We confirm the face in the selfie matches the face on the ID. That's the whole thing. It takes about five minutes, and it's completely free.
How it protects everyone
- Clients know the contractor bidding on their project is a real, accountable person.
- Contractors know the person hiring them is real too — not a scam account.
- Every investor, agent, and inspector on the platform has been through the same check.
- This is the foundation the rest of the platform's protections build on — escrow, milestone verification, and the professional network all assume a real, verified person is on both ends.
Privacy — what we do and don't keep
- Your ID photo and selfie are processed in the moment and not stored afterward.
- We keep only the verification result and the basic profile details you already provided.
- This isn't a database of everyone's ID photos — it's a one-time check that you're a real person.
